With the WQBeam software, the user can perform structural analysis and design of welded intermediate boxed floor beams called WQBeam. WQBeam uses WinRami program as a solver so latest version of WinRami must be installed in order to make calculation with WQBeam.
WQBeam a component applications. It is linked to WinRami with Microsoft Windows OLE-2 linking techniques.
BASES OF DESIGN
The construction model created by the user is solved with the general element method. The beam element used by WinRami has seven degrees of freedom. With this kind of element, it is also possible to take into account the displacement of the neutral axis occurring in cross section class 4.
Code checking is always done according to EN1993-1-1 Eurocode standard. For this type beam related special design details Finnish Constructional Steelwork Association code (21/2009) is used.
Shear checking of hollow core slab is done according to Finnish Concrete Assosiation Code Card 18
There are two language versions of this software, Finnish and English. The language can be selected during the installation and it can be changed by using "Change" option in Windows Conrol Panel's Add/Remove programs section.
User can print complete four page report. It includes on separate pages for design and input data summaries for steel beam and concrete slab. Results are given for normal state design and for structural fire design.
